Want to get more spin from your wedges ?  I have 3 factors that will reveal how much spin you will get from your wedges  . You need a good amount of backspin to stop your ball near the pin on a  uniformfooting.

Now, if you want to know how to hit a golf ball with backspin, you have to  realize it is more difficult  to mystify a good backspin than it used to be.  Golf makers  have lowered the wedge lofts and short irons. There is also a new rule that willlimit golfers capabilities when it comes to putting a backspin on a ball.

 But I have good news for you !  You can still place a backspin on a ball if you already know how to swing a golf club.  But you need more than just your swing to place backspin on a golf ball. You also need the right ball with the right grooves if you want to know how to get the right backspin with your swing.  So I’m going to give you 3 factors you’re going to need to make this work  .

1.) Swing Quality- If you’re going to get a great backspin, then you need clean ball contact that will catch on grooves 3-6 on a golf club and  accelerate through impact.

2.) Face Grooves-Play with a wedge that has good enough grooves.  To engage a balls cover, when you hit it, you need enough loft and friction.   You need 3 calibre grooves to place a good backspin on a golf ball : 1. Box Grooves, 2. U-Grooves, and 3. V-Grooves.  If you want to produce the ideal spin, then Box Grooves are the best.  Also the newer and cleaner the club, the more backspin you will obtain. You also want to keep your grooves sharp for superior backspin. 

3.) Golfball Cover-If you want the peak(a) possible spin on your ball, you need a ball that is soft enough to engage the grooves of your clubface. The 2 for you to select is urethane and Surlyn. Urethan covers are softer than Surlyn.
